Job Description
Job Summary:  Responsible for developing, coordinating and executing all Chamber events and programs. This position is important to the success of the Chamber by providing oversight and execution for all aspects of Chamber programs and events, including logistics, program, promotion and event coordination. Develops and maintains sponsor relationships for all regular chamber activities including appropriate sponsorship categories for events. Develops an annual calendar of events and activities for the Chamber, and recommends revisions, deletions, and additions of events. Directs all Chamber regular programming including coordinating and maintains master calendar.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Authority:
  • Sponsorship: Develops, builds and maintains sponsor relationships for all chamber activities. Develops appropriate sponsorship categories for events. Maintains database of all sponsors. Ensures that all obligations to sponsors are met. Develops and maintains outcome measures for success of sponsorships. Coordinates with contractor on sponsorship relationships for special events.
 
  • Programming: Directs all member programming and events, such as Focus on Women events, Professional Development Seminars, Member luncheons & breakfasts, Contacts and Cocktails, Legislative Lunches, annual Holiday Party, and others. Coordinates with and supports contractor on special events, such as Delray Affair, and Education Breakfast. Coordinates with and supports strategic partners on partner events. Develops, in conjunction with appropriate staff, premium or value-added programming. This includes organize facilities, manage event details such as décor, catering, entertainment, speaker, location, invitee lists, special guests, equipment, promotional materials, etc. In addition, assist at Grand Openings and ribbon cuttings.
 
  • Finance: Responsible for meeting revenue goals and expected costs of events. Works with President and Finance Manager to develop appropriate budgets for each event or programming activity.
 
  • Committees: Staff liaison for Programming committee. Support other committees as needed, including economic development and Ambassadors.
 
  • Community and Public Relations: Promotes interest and active participation in the Chamber’s activities to the membership. Serves as an ambassador for the Chamber to enhance visibility and promote it as a vital function of the business community.
Skills and qualifications:
This position requires excellent communication skills, event planning experience, professional acumen and local/member relationships are a benefit. The position also requires some evening hours as needed and may require some light lifting.
 
The Program Services Director will lead the execution of events, regardless of size and scope and have the ability to work with other staff members, vendors and facility managers. Must have the ability to coordinate and direct volunteers and execute program and event arrangements as designated, while being conscious of the activity budget.
 
The position requires solid organization skills and the ability to adapt to last minute changes.
 
Other: Assists in the successful implementation of other Chamber activities. Performs other duties as assigned
